Initial Nutritional Assessment with HTMA Lab
This includes an Initial Nutritional Assessment along with a Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) functional lab.
Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis is a non-invasive, functional test that gives an insight into what’s happening in the body at a cellular level. HTMA tests for 35 mineral levels as well as heavy metal excretion and 25 key mineral ratios. Hair is made of cells that are formed by the body, and as they grow, they leave evidence of the health status of the body along the way. Using this test, I am able to gain insights into what systems in your body are functioning sub-optimally which allows me to create a more targeted plan for your overall health.

FAQs
Do you take insurance?
I don’t take insurance, and while that may make you pause, it is not actually a bad thing. In a world where we’re used to co-pays and 15-minute appointments, Nutritional Therapy is unique in that many hours are spent before and after our meetings to customize a plan that respects your unique needs. In short, it is a different model of care than what insurance typically covers.
What if I’m not local, do you work with long-distance clients?
Yes, I conduct all visits via virtual meeting room (online). Your remote sessions are completely private and confidential.
How long will it take for me to get well?
This depends on many factors, including how long you’ve had your symptoms, how severe they are, and how well you follow your healing plan. I believe that our bodies don’t switch to a dysfunctional state overnight so we can’t expect them to return back to a healthier state that quickly. Achieving optimal health through a root-cause approach typically requires at least 3-4 months of intentional work and commitment.
Am I going to have to cook all the time?
Only if you want to! I am a recipe collector and a budding developer and will be happy to share my collection with you. Cooking does not have to be complicated or stressful. I like to use as few ingredients as possible which makes cooking less overwhelming. A few basic kitchen skills and a quick lesson on flavor combinations and you will be on your way to success. I can also help you slowly integrate batch cooking and meal preparation practices so cooking doesn’t feel like a chore. But alas, I’m a realist and a foodie and appreciate a good restaurant meal even with kids. I can provide new ways of looking at menus and guidance for making choices that support your body chemistry to keep you moving toward wellness.
Do you work with children/families?
Yes, I love working with children and parents who want to change their family's eating habits and improve their nutrient intake.
Do I have to take supplements?
A: I always take a food-first approach to nutrition. However, due to modern farming practices, our soil today is not what it used to be. Nutrient-depleted soil means that the nutritional contents of fruits, vegetables, and grains have also been compromised. Sometimes, supplements can be useful to fill in the gaps a little more quickly. During our consult, we will determine if nutritional supplements would be beneficial to correct any deficiencies that food alone cannot.
